Join us for our Wild Food, Walking and Sailing Experiences in collaboration with skipper John Ormiston on the 44ft yacht Stravaigin. Together we set sail to explore stunning Hebridean Islands and remote anchorages, discover hidden coves, hills and glens on this beautiful coastline and learn about nature's larder, the incredible flavours, culture and folklore behind some of our native species. We will enjoy delicious local produce, homebaking and introduce you to a smorgasbord of wild flavours. And, if you fancy, take a dip in the sea, learn to take the helm or just chill and enjoy amazing seascapes and wildlife. To celebrate the nutritious bounty of Spring and the versatility of a favourite Spring green, Wild Garlic, we have created a two-day event with Vicky, owner of The Little Foragers Kitchen.
Based in The Old Garden Nursery, a beautiful cottage style garden near to the Old Iron Furnace in Taynuilt, Argyll, this fully immersive nature weekend’s proximity to Loch Etive connects a range of habitats including hedgerow, woodland, coast and meadow.
Together we will gather and explore native species and their place in local culture; prepare delicious 'wild' Middle Eastern and Mediterranean style meals; Forest Bathe amongst beautiful trees; build and light a fire using ancestral techniques; create Spring ferments, vinegars and salts; close our time together with a Fire Circle.
